Warby Parker, an American online retailer of prescription glasses and sunglasses wove their personal story into their product launch. They talked about how there were four guys who met at a college and one of them lost his costly glasses on a backpacking trip. He spent the rest of the first semester at the college squinting and complaining. This brought them together, and they launched Warby Parker with the aim of offering affordable eyewear.
People related to the story, and the brand took off. The company donates a portion of their profits to non-profit partners to make basic eye care available to underprivileged communities. They positioned themselves as a socially-conscious brand with the help of their brand’s story.
3. Leverage Social Media Platforms
If you want to amplify the launch message of your product, you have to be on social media. You can choose the channels that your target audience is most active on. Keep your messaging and content across different social media channel consistent. Consumers love familiarity and consistency.
When Mercedes Benz launched the Mercedes Benz G-Class, they collaborated with a group of German photographers - German roamers. The photographers took pictures while they explored the Dolomites and posted them with the hashtag “#MBdolomates” as shown in the Twitter post above.

They also help you connect with curious consumers who are interested in freebies, and who could be your future customers.
You can also count on some of the participants to talk about it on different social media channels and to encourage their friends and family to also enter. So contests are also a great way to get people talking about your new product through user-generated content.
KeVita had a giveaway contest with the help of social media users during their product launch. The idea was to make more people aware of the benefits of the drink, and to get more people to try it. Users could get a case of KeVita drink and a $50 Amazon gift card by following the @kevitadrinks Instagram account and commenting on the influencer’s account about their favourite flavor. In order to enter the content, they also needed to tag a friend.
6. Release Pre-Launch Videos
Releasing a pre-launch behind-the-scenes video is another great way to promote your product launch. It can help you build excitement for the actual event. It will help you get people talking about the pre-launch events and help create buzz.
Wendy Nguyen, a fashion blogger and YouTuber, covered the launch of Marissa Webb’s Fall 2017 Collection during New York Fashion Week.
